Prayer for Creation
Holy God,
We pray for your creation. We pray for the creatures around us. We hold in our hearts the turtle that visits the garden, the fox that runs across the lawn, the skunk that seeks a home beneath the building, the crows that make themselves known, and the squirrels that gather food from the trees.
We give thanks for the butterflies and the birds that remind us of the beauty in the world. Help us to remember your creation in our daily lives. May we be good caretakers.
As you walk in the garden, you are invited to notice the plants and creatures and how they interact together. May we learn to see how we all live together in this world you have made. Amen
Prayer for the World
Holy God,
The world is in turmoil once again, and we come to you in prayer. May we seek your peace and your way.
We pray for people near and far. May those living in fear know that you are with us all. Help us to see one another as sisters and brothers, and to treat one another with love and kindness. Teach us to love our neighbors and welcome the stranger. Remind us that in you there is no East or West, we are all your children.
We pray for those in places affected by warfare, for sisters and brothers seeking safety, and for those called by their leaders into violence. Hold them in your hands; protect their hearts and minds. We pray for leaders around the world, that they may seek wise counsel, pursue peace, act with compassion, and grow in understanding.
We lift up all who are affected by the choices of others: those who feel they have no good options, those living in fear, those wondering where their next meal will come from, those who are sick, those without access to medical care, and those who feel alone.
May we know your peace. Make us instruments of your peace and justice. Teach us to seek your way with humility, admitting when we do not know the answers and listening with care and compassion. May we look upon one another with love.
Amen.
Prayer for the Community
Holy God,
We come to you in prayer for our community. We pray for teachers, students, aides, administrators, and school workers. Surround them with your care. We especially pray for those who receive NEW DAY food bags. May they know they are not alone, and may this food be a reminder of a community that cares for them.
We pray for Meals on Wheels coordinators, drivers, and recipients. We pray that the scout troops who meet here may feel your presence and know they are loved. We lift up the faith communities around us. May all our ministries be rooted in love, and may we work together to serve your people.
We pray for first responders, that they may walk in peace and feel your presence. We pray for those without a place to sleep and those with empty bellies. Stir in us a deep compassion and a willingness to act.
We pray for those who feel alone,
for those surrounded by chaos,
and for those who do not feel safe.
Help us to come together as a community that cares for one another. Amen.

Prayer for Our Neighbors
You are invited to look at the houses around you and the cars passing by.
Holy God,
We pray for our neighbors. May their homes be filled with your love. May they know they are loved and not alone. May they find refuge in this place when they need it.
When the world feels overwhelming, help us to support one another as neighbors. As people go about their day, lighten their burdens.
As they prepare meals, surround them with your care. Bless them, that they may know they are not alone.
As they prepare for the day ahead, fill them with your peace.
Amen.
Prayer for Friends
For when you feel thankful for friends:
Holy God,
We give you thanks for the friends in our lives, for those we rely on and for the opportunity to form new friendships with those we have yet to meet.
Surround our friends with the same love and care they show to others.
Amen.
For when we are aching for friends:
Holy God,
Help me to experience friendship. Be present with me when the ache of loneliness feels heavy.
Help me to see those around me as potential friends. Help me to offer greetings and to receive them in return. Grant me the courage to reach out.
Bless me with meaningful friendships, and guide me to be a good friend to others.
Amen.
Prayer for Family
Holy God,
We pray for our families, for those who help us grow and walk this journey with us: sisters and brothers, parents and children, the family we are born into and the family we choose over time.
We give you thanks for families who inspire us and for those who challenge us. We lift up to you the family members we miss. Be with us in moments of grief and heartache.
In both joy and sorrow, we give thanks for deep love, for relationships that nourish our souls and help us to see you more clearly. Remind us, again and again, how to love one another.
We lift our families to you, Holy God. Amen.
You are invited to pause and speak the names of those in your family whom you would like to lift up in prayer.
Prayer for Yourself
Holy God,
Help me, when I feel lonely and when I am filled with hope. Guide me when I am lost.
Help me to feel your love and to share it with others. I give you my worries and release my struggles into your care. May my worries be carried away on the breeze, and my fears flow out with each breath.
Help me to hear your steadfast love and to trust that you are with me always. As I walk this path, help me to embrace your peace.
In your holy name I pray,
Amen.
Prayer for Those You Don’t Agree With
Holy God,
I pray for those with whom I disagree, those whose opinions stir anger within me, those with whom I struggle to sit and share a meal, and those I find difficult to understand.
I pray for those I see from a distance and judge too quickly, and for those I think about in ways that are not as kind as I would hope.
May they know your peace. May their lives be filled with the assurance of your love.
Whether we agree or disagree, help us to seek your peace and justice. Teach us to show your love, to speak truth with grace, and to recognize one another as your children.
You are invited to bring to mind those you struggle with, those you dislike, fear, or find difficult, and hold them in prayer. For each person, repeat:
Holy God, fill my heart with your love. Help me to see your face in those around me. Amen.
